V-FIX AB | PDS Barbed Sutures

vfix ab

V-FIX AB is an advanced surgical suture composed of polydioxanone, a synthetic antibacterial absorbable material coated with triclosan, distinguished by its barbed design. This unique feature allows for knotless wound closure, providing secure tissue approximation without the need for traditional knots. The barbs along the suture’s length anchor firmly into the tissue, ensuring a strong and stable closure, which is particularly beneficial in procedures requiring rapid wound closure, such as plastic surgery or general surgery. The barbs are arranged in 72 degree spiral arrangements which helps the barbs to anchor the tissues effectively & uniformly all around the barbs.

  • VFIX AB is a synthetic, monofilament, absorbable suture coated with Triclosan, offering antibacterial properties.
  • It simplifies wound closure compared to traditional sutures.
  • The knotless design reduces inflammation caused by knots.
  • No need for constant monitoring of suture tension.
  • It lowers the risks of suture removal, hemoglobin loss, and hospitalization time, improving patient comfort.
  1. V-Fix with Triclosan coating helps combat surgical site infections.
  2. Fewer instances of suture “spitting” due to the absence of knots.
  3. Minimal tissue strangulation.
Faster incision closure, allowing subcutaneous and dermal layers to be closed with one continuous suture.
  4. Delivers better cosmetic outcomes than conventional sutures.
  5. V-Fix sutures are equipped with needles made from 300 series alloy steel, offering superior strength, sharpness, and performance.
